AI-Powered TVs: Samsung & LG Get Copilot
The “AI in everything” mantra continues its reign in 2025, and Samsung and LG are leading the charge at CES 2025. Both companies showcased significant AI integration in their latest television lineups, transforming the humble TV into a sophisticated, AI-powered home entertainment hub. This year’s models go far beyond simple screen displays; they are becoming increasingly personalized and seamlessly integrated into the smart home ecosystem.

Samsung unveiled Vision AI for its flagship Neo QLED 8K QN990F TV. This suite of features includes live translation, on-screen search, and an “AI mode” that promises adaptive picture and sound optimization based on content recognition and environmental analysis. While the specifics remain to be seen, Samsung partnered with Microsoft to incorporate Copilot’s conversational AI for personalized content recommendations, enhancing the user experience.

LG, similarly, embraced AI across its OLED evo lineup. Features such as adaptive audio and visual settings, AI Voice ID for personalized profiles, AI Search, and an AI chatbot for troubleshooting are all integrated into the viewing experience, accessible through a dedicated AI remote. Their integration of Microsoft Copilot aims to further simplify information retrieval and organization using contextual cues, although a full demonstration of these features was not available at the CES Unveiled preview.

Both Samsung and LG’s new AI-powered TVs will be on display at CES from January 7th to 10th, offering a closer look at these advancements. The integration of generative AI into smart TVs marks a significant step in the evolution of home entertainment, blurring the lines between television and personal computing.
