Use the free Batch Date Format Converter below: your data never leaves your browser — all work happens on your device, and nothing is uploaded to any server.
Date lists go wrong in bulk. An export from one system writes 2024-03-05, a spreadsheet from another writes 12/04/2023, and a copied list mixes both with long forms like March 5, 2024. Sorting that list as text puts March before April in the wrong year, filters miss rows, and an import rejects the file. The Batch Date Format Converter takes a pasted list of dates, one per line, and reformats them all at once with the browser’s built-in Date API, so the whole list comes out in one consistent shape.
This is a batch job by design. A single-date converter helps when you have one date to fix. This tool helps when you have fifty, or five hundred, and they all need the same target format. Paste the list, pick the output format, press one button, and the converted list is ready to download. Unreadable lines are skipped and counted, never silently changed into a wrong date, so a bad line cannot corrupt the rest of the list.
To use it, paste your dates one per line into the box. The sample mixes ISO dates, slash dates, and a long form, plus one line that is not a date at all. Choose the output format. YYYY-MM-DD is the safest target for anything you will sort, filter, or import, because it orders correctly as plain text. DD/MM/YYYY fits European documents, MM/DD/YYYY fits American ones, and the long forms fit reports people will read. The epoch form converts each date to seconds since 1970, which some systems need as input.
One honest warning applies to every date tool, and it matters most in batch work: slash dates are ambiguous. The text 03/05/2024 could mean 3 May or March 5, depending on the country that wrote it. Browsers read slash dates in the month-first style, so a day-first file will convert with day and month swapped. Before trusting a large conversion, check a few converted rows against the source. When the source already uses YYYY-MM-DD, there is no ambiguity at all, which is one more reason that format is the best target.
Skipped lines are information, not failure. A line like not a date cannot be parsed, so it is counted and left out of the output. If many lines are skipped, the source format is probably one the browser parser does not recognise, such as dates with month names in another language or dates with dots as separators. Converting those to ISO form first, even by hand for a few rows, usually reveals the pattern, and the rest of the list then converts cleanly.
Blank lines are ignored quietly, and duplicate dates are kept, because a list of real events can legitimately repeat a date. The tool does not sort the output unless you sort it yourself afterwards, so the converted list keeps the source order. That choice protects lists where order means something, such as a timeline or a sequence of readings.
People use this converter before importing date lists into spreadsheets, shop systems, and mailing tools, to tidy exports from mixed sources, and to prepare date columns for charts that group by month. In every case the rule is the same: one format in, no surprises out. Because the work happens in the browser, lists that sit next to private records never leave the device, and closing the page clears the paste from view.
How to reformat many dates at once

- Press Download list to save the converted dates.
Frequently asked questions
Why were some lines skipped? The browser’s date parser could not read them. They are counted and left out, never silently changed.
Why did 03/05 become March 5 instead of 3 May? Browsers read slash dates month-first. Check converted slash dates before trusting a large batch.
Which output format should I choose? YYYY-MM-DD for anything you will sort, filter, or import. A long form is better for documents people read.
Is my data uploaded? No. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing is sent or stored.
One format in, one format out, and a count of anything that could not be read. That is all a batch date converter needs to do, and it is all this one does.
