Antioch, IL – June 10, 2024 – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chad Michael Metzger, a beloved son, loving father, cherished brother, and proud uncle who passed away on June 6, 2024, at the age of 46. Chad will be fondly remembered for his infectious smile, kind heart, and unwavering support for his family and friends.

A Lifelong Passion for Sports and the Outdoors

Chad’s life was deeply intertwined with sports and the great outdoors. From his early days as an athlete to his later years as an avid sports fan, Chad found immense joy in participating in and cheering on his favorite teams and players. His love for the outdoors extended beyond sports, as he cherished spending time around campfires and embarking on boat rides around tranquil lakes. These experiences allowed him to forge lasting bonds with his loved ones and create cherished memories.

A Heart of Gold and a Generous Spirit

Above all else, Chad was known for his unwavering kindness and generosity. He possessed a heart of gold and went out of his way to help others, always putting their needs before his own. Chad’s family and friends were his top priority, and he took immense pride in being a supportive and loving presence in their lives. While he may have been estranged from his son, Nathan, Chad’s love for him remained steadfast and unconditional.

Legacy of Laughter and Friendship

Chad’s infectious smile and captivating sense of humor brought joy to everyone who knew him. He had a knack for making people feel at ease and was always surrounded by a circle of friends from all walks of life. His ability to connect with others on a personal level left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing his path.

Survived by a Loving Family

Chad is survived by his beloved son, Nathan Metzger; his devoted parents, Mac and Nancy Metzger; his cherished sister, Sheri Narvaez (Freddie); his adored nieces and nephews, Ava, Elena, and Mathieu Narvaez; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Francis Metzger and Ruth Reed; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Lydia Korycki; and his uncle, Dan Korycki.

Visitation and Funeral Arrangements

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, located at 1055 Main Street, Antioch, IL 60002. A funeral service will follow immediately after the visitation, commencing at 3:00 PM. For further information, please contact the funeral home at (847)-395-4000.
