A Life Well-Lived

Jesus Ochavido Madayag, known affectionately as Jesse, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was a truly remarkable man who touched the lives of countless individuals with his kindness, compassion, and unwavering spirit.

Born on April 22, 1943, in the Philippines, Jesse was the son of the late Severina and Eugenio Madayag. He graduated from the University of the East College in 1967 with a degree in Accounting. In 1972, he immigrated to the United States and joined the US Army, serving for three years before transferring to the US Navy. He retired from the military after 20 years of dedicated service.

After retiring from the military, Jesse worked for the US Postal Service in Oakland until his retirement in 2002. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee who took pride in his work.

Above all, Jesse was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family above all else. He spent his days caring for and loving his children and grandchildren, who were his greatest joy.

Legacy of Love and Service

Jesse was a man of strong faith who loved God and his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, and he will be remembered for his generosity and kindness.

He was also a proud veteran who served his country with honor and distinction. He was a role model for his children and grandchildren, and he instilled in them the values of hard work, dedication, and patriotism.

Jesse’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his legacy of love and service will continue to inspire them for generations to come.

Visitation and Funeral Information

Visitation will be held on June 4 and 5, 2024, from 3 pm to 7 pm at Colonial Chapels in Vallejo. A vigil prayer will be held on June 5 at 5 pm.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 6, at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Vallejo. Burial will follow at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon at 12 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army in Jesse’s memory.

He Will Be Deeply Missed

Jesus Ochavido Madayag was a truly exceptional man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
