Joseph Russell Heath Jr. Passes Away at 66

Joseph Russell Heath Jr., 66, of Pittson, passed away on July 27, 2024. He was born in Gardiner, Maine, on March 10, 1958, to Joseph Russell Heath Sr. and Mary Jane (Smith) Heath.

Joseph was a lifelong resident of Pittson. He attended Gardiner Area High School and graduated in 1976. He then went on to work at Sappi Fine Paper in Skowhegan for over 30 years.

Joseph was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also a member of the Pittson Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy (Miller) Heath; his children, Joseph Russell Heath III and his wife, Sarah, of Pittston, and Jennifer Lynn Heath of Pittson; his grandchildren, Joseph Russell Heath IV and Emma Rose Heath; and his siblings, James Heath of Gardiner, John Heath of Pittston, and Jane Heath of Farmingdale.

A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Pittson Volunteer Fire Department, 65 Elm Street, Pittson, Maine 04967.
