Apple is offering free worldwide access to its Apple TV+ streaming service for three days, from January 3rd to 5th, 2025. This promotion, available to anyone with an Apple ID, aims to entice users to sample the platform’s original content before subscribing. The entire Apple TV+ catalog will be accessible on any compatible device during this period.
The free weekend is a promotional tactic to boost subscriptions to the service, which costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year in the U.S. Apple has not publicly revealed its subscriber numbers since launching Apple TV+ in November 2019.
Apple highlighted a selection of its popular shows, including “Severance” (returning for Season 2 on January 17th), the Emmy-winning “Ted Lasso” and “The Morning Show,” along with other titles such as “Silo,” “Shrinking,” “Bad Sisters,” “Slow Horses,” “Disclaimer,” and “Presumed Innocent.” The company also promoted its science fiction offerings, featuring “Dark Matter,” “For All Mankind,” and “Foundation.” The free access also extends to family films like “Fly Me to the Moon” and “The Family Plan,” as well as action-comedies “Wolfs” and “The Instigators.”
