COAS Meets German Military and Civilian Leaders

COAS General Syed Asim Munir Meets German Chief of Defence, Army Chief, and Other High-Ranking Officials

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, who is on an official visit to Germany, met with several high-ranking German military and civilian leaders. During his visit, he discussed matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan’s role in the fight against terrorism and its contributions to regional peace and stability.

Upon his arrival at the German Ministry of Defence, COAS General Munir was greeted by a Guard of Honour presented by the contingent of German Armed Forces. He met with General Carsten Breuer, Chief of Defence, and Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, Chief of the German Army.

COAS Visits German Army Combat Training Centre

COAS General Munir also visited the German Army Combat Training Centre in Gardelegen, where he was briefed on the training methods and facilities used by the German Army. He witnessed a demonstration on urban warfare and visited various training facilities.

COAS Meets German Civilian Leadership

In addition to his meetings with military officials, COAS General Munir also met with Jens Plötner, Foreign Policy and Security Advisor to the Federal Chancellor; Tobias Linder, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; and Nils Hilmer, State Secretary at the Ministry of Defence. During these meetings, the German leadership acknowledged Pakistan Army’s contributions to the fight against terrorism and its efforts to maintain peace and stability.

COAS to Address German Armed Forces Command and Staff College

COAS General Munir’s visit to Germany includes a visit to the German Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Hamburg. He will address the students from various countries to share Pakistan’s perspective on regional and international security issues, as well as the role of Pakistan Armed Forces in United Nations missions.
