Breast cancer patient assists Santa.
Fred Amatucci, a resident of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, is battling breast cancer, but his diagnosis hasn’t dimmed his Christmas spirit. Since the 1980s, he’s been a key part of bringing Santa Claus to the community, starting with his involvement in the Upper Darby Fire Company. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, the disease spread to other parts of his body in 2021. Despite this, Amatucci continues his work coordinating Santa’s visits to local homes, events, and even the Flight on Ice at Energy Transfer Veterans Memorial Rink in Newtown Square. He also maintains his roles as an information assistant at the Springfield Township Police Department and a fire police officer with Bon Air Fire Company, showcasing his dedication to community service even while facing significant health challenges.
