Bruesewitz, Trump Ally, Watched January 6 Vote Count

Representative Lance Gooden (R-TX) invited Alex Bruesewitz to witness the certification of President-elect Donald Trump’s Electoral College victory on January 6th. Gooden, in a press release shared with Breitbart News, described Bruesewitz as one of many innocent Americans targeted and harassed by the Democrat-led January 6th Select Committee. He stated, “Bruesewitz was one of the many innocent Americans wrongly targeted, harassed, and financially drained by the thoroughly discredited January 6th Committee. I look forward to having him as my guest.”

Previously, Bruesewitz had been subpoenaed to testify before the January 6th Committee. He initially refused, citing the committee’s improper constitution and his lack of knowledge regarding the Capitol events. Following an appearance on Tucker Carlson’s show and subsequent subpoena, he ultimately invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. In his prepared remarks, Bruesewitz explained this decision, stating that he viewed the Fifth Amendment as a protection against potential congressional overreach. He argued that the committee’s actions constituted an “excess power grab or abuse by Congress.”

Bruesewitz expressed enthusiasm about attending the certification, viewing it as a “tremendous honor.” He emphasized his belief in President-elect Trump’s electoral victory, stating, “Trump’s Electoral College (and popular vote!) victory was historic, and I am excited to witness its certification. This will be my first time at the Capitol on January 6th.” His presence at the event, facilitated by Representative Gooden, underscores the ongoing political divisions surrounding the January 6th events and their aftermath.
