WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorms and Tornado Warnings in Houston Area

December 24, 2024 at 4:46 PM CST

Severe thunderstorms, including tornado warnings, are impacting the Houston area. Residents are urged to share photos and videos of the weather conditions in their neighborhoods to help the community stay informed.

Several reports have come in detailing significant hail in various locations, including Cypress, Pearland, and Bridgeland. One report describes a funnel cloud sighted near Brookside and Beltway 8, just past Beamer on Dixie Farm Road heading toward 518 in Pearland (2:30 PM Christmas Eve). Other reports mention hail ranging from large to enormous in size, along with sleet near Hockley. Some areas experienced multiple rounds of hail.

Despite the severe weather, some residents report only light sprinkles in their areas.
