A 28-year-old Goodwater man, Brian A. Combest, died in a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Coosa County, Alabama. The crash occurred around 2:19 a.m. on County Road 70, near the intersection with County Road 41, approximately seven miles south of Sylacauga. According to Lieutenant Jeremy Burkett of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Combest was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck when it veered off the road and collided with several trees.
Mr. Combest was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
