Obituary: Judith Cobb Mallett

77, of Lee, passed away on May 7, 2023

Judith Cobb Mallett, 77, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, in her home in Lee, Maine. Judith was born on August 10, 1945, in Portland, Maine, to John and Mary Cobb. She graduated from Lee Academy in 1963 and continued her education at the University of Maine at Orono, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1967. She worked as a registered nurse at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for over 30 years. Judith was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who always went the extra mile for her patients.

In 1970, Judith married John Mallett, and together they raised four children. Judith was a loving and devoted wife and mother who always put her family first. She was an active member of her community, serving on the Lee Planning Board and the Lee Historical Society. She was also a member of the Lee Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. Judith was a talented quilter and knitter, and she loved to garden. She was a kind and generous woman who always had a smile on her face. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Judith is survived by her husband, John Mallett, and her four children:

• John Mallett Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Lee
• Mary Mallett and her husband, Tom, of Bangor
• Susan Mallett and her husband, John, of Portland
• David Mallett and his wife, Sarah, of Augusta

She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and her brother, John Cobb Jr. of Florida. Judith was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Mary Cobb.

A celebration of Judith’s life will be held at a later date.
