Judith Edna (Haley) Davidson Passes Away at 76
## Oakland Community Mourns the Loss of a Cherished Member
The Oakland community is deeply saddened by the passing of Judith Edna (Haley) Davidson, who passed away peacefully in Portland on April 6th at the age of 76. Ms. Davidson was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Ms. Davidson was born in Oakland on July 18, 1946, to parents John and Mary Haley. She grew up in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1964. She went on to attend the University of Maine at Farmington, where she earned a degree in education in 1968.
## A Dedicated Educator and Community Advocate
After graduating from college, Ms. Davidson returned to Oakland where she taught elementary school for over 30 years. She was a dedicated and passionate educator who loved working with children. She was also very active in the Oakland community, serving on the town council for several years and volunteering for many local organizations.
Ms. Davidson was a loving wife to her husband of 56 years, Richard Davidson. Together, they raised two children, Jennifer and Jeffrey. She was also a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren, whom she adored.
## Celebration of a Life Well-Lived
A memorial service to celebrate Ms. Davidson’s life will be held on June 1st at 1 p.m. at the Lewis Cemetery in Oakland. The family invites all who knew and loved Ms. Davidson to attend and share their memories of her.
## Funeral Arrangements
The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Wheeler Funeral Home in Oakland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Oakland Public Library in Ms. Davidson’s memory.
Ms. Davidson’s passing is a great loss to the Oakland community. She was a kind and caring person who will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her students, and her community.
