Leighton E. Carver, 83, of Richmond, passes away
Leighton E. Carver, 83, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 15, 1940, in Richmond, Leighton was the son of the late Edward and Hazel (Cotton) Carver.
Leighton grew up in Richmond and attended local schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965. After his honorable discharge, Leighton returned to Richmond and worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years.
Leighton was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Leighton was also a talented musician and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing.
Leighton is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia (Bibber) Carver; his two children, Michael Carver and his wife, Jennifer, of Richmond and Michelle Carver and her husband, Matthew, of Litchfield; his five grandchildren, Tyler Carver, Emily Carver, Ryan Carver, Megan Carver, and Ethan Carver; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on May 30, 2023, at Cotton Cemetery in Richmond. A gathering will follow at the Richmond American Legion. Arrangements are under the care of Kincer Funeral Home, 130 Pleasant Street, Richmond, ME 04357.
