An elderly man died on Christmas Day, one week after he was struck by a vehicle in east Birmingham. Cecil Wayne Joyce, 82, was a pedestrian when the accident occurred at 7:25 a.m. on December 18th in the 800 block of Sunhill Road N.W., in the Center Point area. He passed away at 8:04 a.m. on Wednesday at UAB Hospital, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. Birmingham police are currently investigating the incident, and further details have not yet been released.
