Gal Gadot recently revealed a terrifying health scare she experienced before giving birth to her fourth child, Ori. She disclosed that she developed a large blood clot requiring emergency surgery to save her life.
The actress shared a poignant photo on Instagram of herself, exhausted but holding her newborn daughter. In her caption, she detailed the harrowing ordeal, explaining that this year had been one of the most challenging of her life. She wrestled with whether to publicly share her experience but ultimately decided to let her heart guide her.
Gadot explained that in February, during her eighth month of pregnancy, she was diagnosed with a blood clot after weeks of excruciating headaches. An MRI revealed the severity of the situation, leading to an immediate hospital admission and emergency surgery just hours later. Her daughter, Ori, was born amidst this uncertainty and fear. The name “Ori,” meaning “my light,” was chosen intentionally, as Gadot told her husband, Jaron, that their daughter would be the light at the end of the tunnel before undergoing the procedure.
Fortunately, Gadot has made a full recovery. She urged others to pay close attention to their bodies, emphasizing that awareness can save lives. She also highlighted that blood clots in pregnant women are more common than many realize, hoping to raise awareness and support for other mothers facing similar complications.
Ori is Gadot’s fourth child, joining her daughters Alma, Maya, and Daniella, born in 2011, 2017, and 2021, respectively. While Gadot has several films slated for release next year, this year’s events clearly placed a different kind of priority on her life.
