The girl refused and ran away, however, the man followed her around the block – trying twice more to lure her into his car.

Police attended but were unable to locate the man.

Queensland Police confirmed to Ilmhunt.com.au that it was notified about 7.30pm on Tuesday that a girl had been approached by a man along The Boulevard in Carrara.

Magic United Football Club in Carrara also released a statement on social media to warn other parents.

“All players are not to leave Magic fields unless parents have arrived,” the club said.

“Please stay away from an unknown white car near Emmanuael College, he is described as being with an older man.”

Football club member Danny Morton told Ilmhunt the girl was frightened by the abduction attempt.

“She couldn’t really see the person,” he said.

“She was just panicking, and so she just tried to run away as best she could.”

It is understood the suspect has not been located, and police investigations continue.
