## Werewolves: Frank Grillo’s Horror Film Howls onto Blu-ray in February
Frank Grillo ( *The Purge*, *Captain America*) stars in Steven C. Miller’s (*Silent Night*) werewolf horror film, *Werewolves*, which is receiving a Blu-ray release on February 4th. Pre-orders are available now [insert link here].
Initially titled *Year 2*, the film received a theatrical release in December 2024 and a subsequent VOD release over the holidays. The Blu-ray release will include deleted scenes and trailers as special features.
*Werewolves* presents a chilling scenario: a supermoon triggers a latent gene in humanity, transforming anyone exposed to its light into a werewolf for a single night. The resulting chaos leads to nearly a billion deaths. A year later, the supermoon returns, setting the stage for a terrifying confrontation.
Grillo leads a talented cast, including Katrina Law (*NCIS*), Ilfenesh Hadera (*Godfather of Harlem*), James Michael Cummings (*City on a Hill*), and Lou Diamond Phillips (*Young Guns*). Matthew Kennedy (*Inheritance*) penned the screenplay, and the film boasts practical werewolf effects designed and built by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr., known for their work on the *Alien* and *Predator* franchises.
The film’s production team includes director Steven C. Miller, Myles Nestel, Craig Chapman, James Michael Cummings, Jim Cardwell, Luillo Ruiz, Sevier Crespo, and executive producers Tom Ortenberg, Lisa Wilson, Clay Pecorin, Russell Geyser, Victor Burke, Vanzil Burke, Gary Raskin, and Alastair Burlingham. *Werewolves* was released by Briarcliff Entertainment and The Solution Entertainment Group.
Myles Nestel, co-CEO of The Solution, praised the cast and the film’s practical effects, stating, “Our cast is incredible, from the amazing Frank Grillo to powerhouse performances from Katrina Law and Ilfenesh Hadera. The use of practical werewolves…takes the genre back to its roots in a fresh and exciting way.”
*Werewolves* received an R rating for violence, gore, and language. JoBlo’s Tyler Nichols awarded the film an 8/10 review [insert link here] and included it on his Best Horror Movies of 2024 list.
