The 36th Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) recently held a successful football tournament at Kyongsa Ground in Gyalshing. Organized under the supervision of Commandant Ajeet Mohan, the event aimed to engage youth from villages along the Indo-Nepal border. The tournament fostered camaraderie and healthy competition among young athletes.
The final match proved a thrilling contest between Young Boys Football Academy and Tikjek Football Club. In a hard-fought battle, Young Boys Football Academy secured a 2-1 victory, claiming the tournament trophy.
To celebrate the participants’ dedication and promote sportsmanship, Commandant Mohan presented each player with a football kit. Trophies were awarded to the winning team, and a motivational speech emphasized the crucial role of sports in building unity and discipline among young people. This initiative reflects the SSB’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and the holistic development of border communities.
