Houston, TX – KPRC 2’s weather team tracked several days of severe weather this week, culminating in a significant tornado outbreak Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service reported eight tornadoes across Southeast Texas. An official report is expected later today, and we will share the details as soon as they are available. Thankfully, the severe weather system is moving east, away from Texas. High pressure is building, which will help clear conditions in Houston.
Southeast Texas will enjoy a break from severe storms on Sunday, with sunshine returning. Sunday morning will start cool, in the low 50s, but the afternoon will be pleasant, with highs in the low 70s.
New Year’s Eve fireworks plans should proceed without rain delays. Sunshine will prevail before rain chances return the first weekend of 2025.
