A 56-year-old Birmingham woman, Wendi D. Baldwin, died Friday in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 59 southbound near Arkadelphia Road. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity on Monday. The crash occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. Baldwin was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 6:38 p.m. The Birmingham Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
