Obituary: Archie Ransom, 88, of Denver
Archie Ransom, 88, of Denver, passed away May 26, 2024.
Ransom was born in 1936 in Denver, Colorado. He was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of Denver East High School. After graduating from high school, Ransom served in the United States Army for two years. He then attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he earned a degree in business administration.
After graduating from college, Ransom worked for several years in the private sector before joining the Denver Public Schools system. He taught business courses at several high schools in the district, including Denver East High School, where he had been a student.
Ransom was a dedicated teacher who enjoyed working with students. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ransom is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary; his two children, John and Susan; and his four grandchildren.
A service will be held for Ransom on June 29, 2024, at 2:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Denver Public Schools Foundation in Ransom’s name.
