Carolyn Sue Sturgeon, 75, of Hanceville, Passes Away

Hanceville, AL – Carolyn Sue Sturgeon, a longtime resident of Hanceville, passed away on July 19, 2024, at the age of 75. She was born on October 15, 1948, to Alvie Collins and Ladonna K Desken.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Gail Sturgeon. She is survived by her sons, William “Billy” (Lena Bollen) Sturgeon, Jr., Edward Dewayne Sturgeon, and Mark (Joy) Allen Sturgeon; grandchildren, Tiffany Sturgeon, Anthony Sturgeon, Krystal Burgess, Chris Sturgeon, Rachel Sturgeon, and Heather Sturgeon; 10 great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet, Screppy.

Carolyn was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law, Gail Sturgeon.

Survivors include her sons, William “Billy” (Lena Bollen) Sturgeon, Jr., Edward Dewayne Sturgeon, and Mark (Joy) Allen Sturgeon; grandchildren, Tiffany Sturgeon, Anthony Sturgeon, Krystal Burgess, Chris Sturgeon, Rachel Sturgeon and Heather Sturgeon; 10 great grandchildren, father of her children, William Sturgeon; and her beloved pet, Screppy.
