Myra Jean Drake, an esteemed resident of Cullman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, at the age of 81. Born to John and Clara Barnette, Myra lived a life filled with love, family, and community service.
Myra’s unwavering devotion to her family was evident in all she did. She was the beloved mother of Rebecca (John) Ann Cordes, Christopher (Jessica) Lee Logan, and Larry (Samantha) K. Drake, Jr. Her grandchildren, John (Andi) Patrick Cordes, Jr., Aaron (Emily) Lee Logan, Mason Keith Drake, and Jordan Matthew Drake, held a special place in her heart.
Myra’s love extended beyond her immediate family to embrace the entire Cullman community. She was a woman of deep faith and dedication, actively involved in numerous charitable and volunteer organizations. Her spirit of service and unwavering support touched the lives of countless individuals.
A Legacy of Love and Goodness
Myra’s legacy will live on through her family and the community she held dear. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren – Grayson Cordes and Collins Cordes – will forever cherish the memories of her love and guidance.
Myra’s siblings, James Barnette, Betty Nix, Joyce Brown, Faye Montgomery, and Ann Smith, will remember her as a loving sister and a pillar of strength within their family.

Funeral Arrangements
A funeral service to honor Myra Jean Drake’s life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Valley Spring Cemetery.
