Nancy A. (Gearhart) Hausman, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 24, 2024, in her Fleetwood residence.
A Life Dedicated to Nursing
Nancy was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1935 to Leon and Madeline (Deysher) Gearhart. She graduated from Oley Valley High School and went on to pursue her passion for nursing at Reading Hospital School of Nursing, where she obtained her Registered Nurse certification.
Nancy began her nursing career at Reading Hospital but spent the majority of her professional life serving the residents of The Lutheran Home at Topton for nearly three decades. Her unwavering dedication and compassionate care left a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals.
A Devoted and Loving Family Matriarch
In 1961, Nancy married William H. Hausman, with whom she shared many happy years until his passing in 2008. Together, they raised six children: Debbie L. (Hausman) Fegely, Robert A. Hausman, Gary W. Hausman, Gary L. Hausman, Thomas R. Hausman, and Mark D. Hausman.
Nancy’s family was her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her family members cherish the memories of her unwavering support, unconditional love, and infectious laughter.
A Graveside Service to Honor her Life
A graveside service to celebrate and honor Nancy’s life and burial will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA.
A procession will depart from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, promptly at 12:45 p.m.
