Invisible Text Generator — Copy & Paste Blank Characters (ㅤ)

Want to send a completely blank message, use an invisible name in a game, or add empty lines to your Instagram bio? The tool below generates invisible text — characters that take up space but show nothing — and copies it to your clipboard in one click. Type anything (or nothing at all), hit “Generate Invisible Text”, and paste the result wherever you need it. You can use this Invisible Text Generator free on IlmHunt — no sign-up needed, and it runs entirely in your browser.

How to generate invisible text

  1. Type in the box — or leave it empty; the length of your input decides how many invisible characters you get.
  2. Press “Generate Invisible Text”. Every character is converted to U+200B, the zero-width space: it is a real character, but it renders as nothing.
  3. Copy and paste. Hit “Copy to Clipboard” and paste into WhatsApp, Discord, Instagram, or your game’s name field. The character and word counters update live so you know exactly how many invisible characters you have.

Worked example: the three invisible characters, compared

Not all invisible characters are equal. Here are the three people actually use, what this tool generates, and where each one survives:

Character Code What it is Where it works best
(blank) U+200B Zero-width space — what this tool generates WhatsApp blank messages, Discord, most web forms
ㅤ U+3164 Hangul filler — renders as a visible-width blank Instagram bios, Free Fire / PUBG names, TikTok
(blank) U+2800 Braille pattern blank — a “taller” invisible character Older chat apps, some game name fields

Try it: generate 10 invisible characters with the tool above, copy them, and paste into a WhatsApp chat addressed to yourself. The message sends as an apparently empty bubble — but if you long-press it, WhatsApp shows the message is really there. That is the whole trick: platforms see characters, humans see nothing.

For an invisible game name, the recipe that works most often is 2–3 copies pasted together (generate once, copy, paste three times into the name field). Many games reject a single zero-width character as “too short”, but accept a short run of them.

What people actually use it for

  • Blank WhatsApp messages — sending an empty bubble to get someone’s attention, or testing whether a contact reads messages.
  • Invisible gaming names — blank display names in Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Among Us and Discord, which make your name tag appear empty in lobbies.
  • Instagram bio spacing — invisible characters create the empty lines between bio sections that the app’s editor normally collapses.
  • Formatting tricks — forcing a line break or indent in apps that strip normal spaces, and bypassing minimum-length filters on display names.

Honest limitations

  • Some platforms strip them on save. A growing number of apps now remove zero-width characters when you submit a form, precisely because of invisible-name abuse. If your blank name reverts to your old one, the platform cleaned it.
  • Minimum-length rules still apply. A game that requires 3-character names may reject one invisible character; paste 2–4 copies to clear the bar.
  • Screen readers may announce the character. Assistive technology can read U+200B aloud as “zero width space”, so a wall of invisible text is noisy for blind users — don’t use it in public content.
  • They are not the same as a space. A normal space (U+0020) collapses and wraps; a zero-width space doesn’t break lines the same way, which is exactly why it survives where spaces get trimmed.

Frequently asked questions

Why was my blank name rejected by the game?

Three usual causes: the game strips zero-width characters on save, it enforces a minimum name length (paste 2–3 copies), or it requires at least one visible character. Try the Hangul filler (U+3164) variant for games — its wider blank passes filters that catch U+200B.

Which invisible character works on WhatsApp?

U+200B — the zero-width space this tool generates — works reliably for blank WhatsApp messages. Paste the copied output into the chat box and send; the bubble arrives empty.

Is an invisible character the same as a space?

No. A regular space is visible to software as whitespace and gets trimmed or collapsed by most apps. An invisible character like U+200B is a letter-like character that happens to render as nothing, so it survives trimming that would delete plain spaces.

How many invisible characters do I need for a blank Discord name?

Discord’s display-name field accepts zero-width characters, and one is technically enough — but a single U+200B can be finicky to select and copy. Generate 3–5 with the tool above so you have a comfortable run to work with, then paste into Settings → Profiles → Display Name.
