Remembering Lynetta Sims: A Life of Love and Legacy

Lynetta Sims, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, was born in Arkansas in 1939. Her journey took a profound turn when she united in marriage with Samuel Sims in 1968, a bond that lasted for over five decades.

In 1969, Lynetta and Samuel embraced a new chapter in their lives by making their home in Hawaii. Amidst the idyllic surroundings, they raised their six children, instilling in them the values of compassion, gratitude, and a relentless pursuit of knowledge.

Driven by an unquenchable thirst for education, Lynetta embarked on a return to school. With unwavering determination, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. Her career as a civil servant was marked by excellence and dedication.

Undeterred by the passage of time, Lynetta pursued her passion for teaching. She obtained a teaching certificate from Chapman College and dedicated her energy to nurturing young minds in elementary schools.

Lynetta’s memory lives on through her cherished family: her devoted husband Samuel Sims; her children: Debra Pahio (deceased), Lynell Green, Jack Sims, Martin Sims, Sydney Sims, and Lois Anderson; her grandchildren: Lucinda Sims, Ana Pahio, Lopaka Pahio, Miko Ruiz, Kimo Ruiz, Jack Sims, Pedro Reyes, and Terrance Sims; her great-grandchildren: Shanice Sims, Cornelius Marsh III, Tianna Marsh, Kayden Sims, Malikai Pahio, Maddixx Pahio, Mai’le Pahio, Mai’kole Pahio, Leilani Pahio, Makaila Pahio, Isaiah Sims, Hezekiah Sims; and her great-great-grandson: Demario Sims.

Her love, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will forever reside in the hearts of her loved ones. A viewing for Lynetta Sims will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 8:30 A.M to 10:00 A.M at Vaca Hills Chapel Funeral Home, 524 Elmira Road, Vacaville, CA 95687.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M on May 16, 2024 at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon CA 95620.
