Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Richardson Tuttle, 83, of Watersmeet, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Born on May 8, 1941, in Highland Park, Illinois, to the late Theodore and Martha (MacIntyre) Struve, Peggy dedicated her life to serving her community and nurturing young minds.

Professional Life

Peggy was a passionate early childhood educator and Head Start Program Director. Throughout her career, she left an enduring impact on countless children and families. Her innovative “thinking outside the box” approach fostered a positive and engaging learning environment for her students. By incorporating music, formal meals, and adventurous expeditions into her curriculum, she instilled in the children a deep sense of pride, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Community Involvement

Beyond the classroom, Peggy actively served her community as a member of the school board and township road commission. She was a tireless advocate for her town, recognizing the potential and opportunities that Watersmeet had to offer.

Personal Life

In addition to her professional and community commitments, Peggy enjoyed an active and fulfilling personal life. She had a deep love for the Northwoods, where she enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends. She was an avid football fan and adored her beloved dog, Quincy.

Legacy

Peggy was a devoted mother and grandmother, taking immense pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She left behind a legacy of love, service, and a deep appreciation for the joys of life.

Memorial Service

A celebration to honor Peggy’s life will be held at her home in the Northwoods at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, Illinois.
