Obituary of Mary Jane Leona Ruth

Mary Jane Leona Ruth, a lifelong resident of Kenhorst, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the age of 91.

Early Life and Family

Mary Jane was born on September 12, 1932, to Willoughby Davis and Ella (Nice) Whitcraft. She was the beloved step-daughter of Harold A. Whitcraft. She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Harold “Tugs” Whitcraft, and her husband, Richard G. Ruth.

Career and Interests

Mary Jane was a dedicated and hardworking individual. She held various positions at local establishments, including manager of the A Plus on Park Road, employee at The Dog House in Shillington, and caller at Hiesters Lanes.

In her free time, Mary Jane enjoyed playing bingo and double deck pinochle. She also loved volunteering at her children’s activities, where she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Legacy

Mary Jane was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her memory will live on through her children: Sharon Weaver, Richard Ruth Jr., John Ruth, and Douglass Ruth. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Nancy Whitcraft.

Her unwavering spirit and dedication to her family and community will forever be remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.

Memorial Service Information

Relatives and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
