Midtown C Train Slashing Leads to Arrest


A man is in police custody after allegedly slashing another subway rider in Midtown Manhattan early Monday morning. The incident occurred on a northbound C train just before 1:30 a.m. The 48-year-old victim sustained a slash wound to the neck but was able to exit the train at the 50th Street station. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital and is expected to recover.

The suspect, who remained on the train, exited at the 59th Street Columbus Circle station. He is currently being treated for a hand injury and has not yet been charged. The motive for the attack is unknown.
