Minaj Warrant Denied: Case Continues
Nicki Minaj will not face arrest at this time regarding assault allegations made by her former manager, Brandon Garrett. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has denied a warrant request from the Detroit Police Department, citing insufficient evidence to prove a crime occurred. While the Prosecutor’s Office has requested further investigation into the matter, this decision signifies a significant hurdle for the allegations to proceed to criminal charges.

Garrett’s civil lawsuit against Minaj alleges assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from an incident in Detroit during April 2024. He claims Minaj became enraged over a situation involving her prescriptions, resulting in threats against his life, a punch to the face, and a slap. Minaj’s legal team, however, has vehemently denounced the lawsuit as “completely false and frivolous.”

The Detroit Police Department and Minaj’s representatives have yet to offer further comment on the Prosecutor’s Office’s decision. The denial of the warrant underscores the current lack of sufficient evidence to support criminal charges, although the possibility of future charges remains open pending the results of the requested further investigation.
