A Minnesota man, 45-year-old Tiresias Young, has been charged with two counts of first-degree attempted murder following a weekend shooting involving Chicago police. The incident occurred around 12:45 a.m. Saturday in the 5700 block of West North Avenue. Police allege that Young shot a 36-year-old man before attempting to shoot two Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers. One officer returned fire, but neither officer was injured. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital; their condition remains unknown. The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating the use of force, and the officers involved have been placed on routine administrative leave.
