Life and Legacy

Mitchell Paul Zwolensky, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on May 16, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born and raised in Owosso, Michigan, Mitch’s life was a testament to his love for family, baseball, and the pursuit of excellence.

Baseball Career

Mitch’s passion for baseball ignited at an early age. After graduating from Owosso High School in 1978, he was drafted by the Texas Rangers. Although he initially attended Eastern Michigan University, he ultimately chose to follow his dream of playing professional baseball in 1981.

Mitch’s baseball career spanned several years, including stops in the minor leagues and independent leagues. He retired from playing in 1997 as the coach of the Minot Mallards in North Dakota.

Coaching and Community Involvement

After his playing days, Mitch continued to share his love of baseball by coaching little league teams and giving private lessons. He was also inducted into the Owosso High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022.

Loving Family

Mitch’s unwavering love for his family was evident in everything he did. He adored his wife Polly, who was not only his soulmate but also his best friend. He cherished his son Ryan, taking immense pride in his accomplishments.

Mitch’s infectious personality, kind heart, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.
