Myer to depart Brisbane’s Queen St Mall in major retail blow (2023-03-16 02:37:47)

Major Australian retailer Myer will depart the Myer Centre in Brisbane’s Queen St Mall later this year, it has been confirmed.

“Myer has made the decision to depart the Myer Centre Brisbane at the end of its lease in July 2023,” Myer and Vicinity Centres said in a joint statement.

“Vicinity and ISPT were investigating a number of options for the centre including a downsized contemporary department store and plans without a department store which we can now progress with certainty.

“We look forward to delivering a reimagined destination in the heart of Brisbane’s evolving CBD and anticipate sharing our plans shortly.

“In the meantime, the centre will continue to offer the growing number of visitors, locals and CBD workers a diverse mix of retail, dining and entertainment options with no impact to public transport or carpark access.”
