Cullman Resident Barry Lynn Jacobs Passes Away at 64

Cullman, AL – Barry Lynn Jacobs, a 64-year-old resident of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Jacobs was born on September 8, 1959, to Edgar Earl Jacobs and Doris Faye McGriff Jacobs. He served his country bravely in the Army for fifteen years.

Jacobs is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Hansen Jacobs; son, Bradley Jacobs (Misty); daughter, Jessica Jacobs; brother, Stanley Jacobs (Betty); sister, Tammy Jenkins (David); grandchildren, Lexi Jacobs (Michael Rickard), Christopher Smith (Mary Andrews), Andrew Jacobs, Brittany Jacobs, Brantley Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tim Barbee officiating. Jacobs will lie in state from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., prior to the service.

Obituary

Barry Lynn Jacobs was born on September 8, 1959, to Edgar Earl Jacobs and Doris Faye McGriff Jacobs. He was a graduate of Cullman High School and served his country in the Army for fifteen years. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver for many years.

Jacobs was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and watching NASCAR.

Jacobs is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Hansen Jacobs; son, Bradley Jacobs (Misty); daughter, Jessica Jacobs; brother, Stanley Jacobs (Betty); sister, Tammy Jenkins (David); grandchildren, Lexi Jacobs (Michael Rickard), Christopher Smith (Mary Andrews), Andrew Jacobs, Brittany Jacobs, Brantley Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jacobs was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Reba Jacobs; mother and father-in-law, Raymond and Lila Hansen; sister, Jellethia Carden; son-in-law, Brandon Brooks; niece, Stacy Hansen; beloved brother-in-law, Gerald Harper; and nephew, Willy Taylor.

Funeral Arrangements

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home.
