Betty Jean Mitchell Obituary

Betty Jean Mitchell, a dedicated and compassionate nurse, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her passing.

Betty was born on September 21, 1935, in Cannon Falls, MN to Alfred and Trilva Eckman. After graduating from high school, Betty embarked on a fulfilling career as a registered nurse. She spent 30 years working at Mount Sinai Hospital in Minneapolis, where she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved husband, Anthony, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Terry (Carol) Mitchell; grandsons, Scott (Katlyn), Matthew (Rachel), and Timothy Mitchell; and great-granddaughter, Mila. Betty’s memory will live on through her family and the many people whose lives she touched.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Betty will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Peace Hospice or Children’s Minnesota Foundation in Betty’s name.
