Remembering Betty Ryan Bullard
A Life of Love and Service
Betty Ryan Bullard, a beloved member of the Cullman community, passed away peacefully at her home on June 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.
Born on October 1, 1935, to George Baxter “Doc” Ryan and Bertie Belva Brown Ryan, Betty spent her life spreading joy and making a positive impact on those around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years, Doyle Bullard; their children, Benjamin Bullard, Belinda Hartsell (Barry Mason), Marcia Sutton, and Emily McClellan (Jack); grandchildren, Lara Beth Baswell, Holly Johnson, Melanie Basham, Brad Hartsell, Katie Jean Richardson, Andrew Bullard, Morgan Rae Cavender, Madison Sutton, Mary Ryan McClellan, and Clark McClellan; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clyde Ryan, Calvin Ryan, Martin Ryan, Glenn Ryan, and Charles Ryan; and her sister, Edith Ryan Goodner; and her son-in-law, David Hartsell.
A Legacy of Generosity
Beyond her family, Betty was known for her unwavering generosity and compassion. She was a passionate supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her honor to this worthy cause.
Betty’s life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and making a difference. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her gentle spirit, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Funeral Arrangements
A funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at the Cullman Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be held from Noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Cullman City Cemetery.
