In Memoriam: Beverly Jean de Lege (nee Crickmore), a Life of Love, Accomplishment, and Joy
A Daughter, Sister, and Devoted Mother
Beverly Jean de Lege, born on March 22, 1958, in Vallejo, California, was the youngest of three siblings to Robert and Virginia Crickmore. She shared a close bond with her brother, Alan, and sister, Susan. In 1976, Beverly graduated from Vallejo Senior High School and went on to pursue higher education at Solano Community College in Fairfield.
Beverly’s family held a special place in her heart. She was a loving mother to her sons, John (Cassandra) White of Greenwell Springs, LA, and Nicholas (Brie Tilman, son Carter) de Lege of Coquille, OR. Her grandchildren, Morgan and Michael White, brought immense joy to her life.
A Successful Career in Business and Government
Beverly embarked on a fulfilling career that spanned across several industries. She began her journey in the fast food and retail sectors before joining Unocal Refinery in Rodeo, CA, in 1985. At Unocal, she held various management positions in different departments over 15 years. Her contributions were highly valued within the organization.
In 2000, Beverly made a career transition and joined the City of Vacaville as Maintenance Supervisor in the I.C.E department. With her leadership and dedication, she supervised up to twenty-four direct reports, ensuring the smooth operations of the department.
Beverly retired in August 2015, eager to embark on a new chapter in her life, filled with family, travel, and hobbies.
Cherished Hobbies and a Vibrant Lifestyle
In her retirement, Beverly had ample time to indulge in her passions. She was an avid gardener, finding solace and joy in nurturing her plants. Traveling was another cherished pastime, and she had the opportunity to explore diverse destinations worldwide.
Beverly’s love for the outdoors extended to the beach, where she enjoyed snorkeling and swimming. She was also a talented dancer, particularly in the realm of country western dance, which brought her great pleasure.
Music held a special place in Beverly’s heart. She relished attending live concerts, immersing herself in the energy and emotions of her favorite artists.
A Loving Wife and Partner
In 1993, Beverly married Rickey de Lege, a loving and supportive partner. They shared a beautiful life together until Rickey’s passing in December 2021. Beverly’s love for her husband remained strong throughout her life, and she cherished the memories they had created.
A Legacy of Care and Compassion
Beverly’s passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations to organizations close to Beverly’s heart. The Thymic Carcinoma Center (thymiccarcinoma.org) and Welsh Terrier Cares (welshterrierrescue.com) were causes that held special significance for her.
Beverly’s legacy will live on through the lives she touched and the difference she made in the world. Her spirit of resilience, love, and adventure will continue to inspire those who knew her.
