Carl Edward Rendell Obituary

Carl Edward Rendell, 62, of Norridgewock, passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2023. He was born on April 3, 1961, in Waterville, Maine, to Edward and Mary (Smith) Rendell.

Carl grew up in Norridgewock and attended local schools. He graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1979. After high school, Carl worked at various jobs before starting his own business, Rendell’s Construction, in 1985. He was a skilled carpenter and took pride in his work. Carl was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Carl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan (Smith) Rendell; his two children, Sarah Rendell and her husband, John, of Norridgewock, and Matthew Rendell and his wife, Amy, of Madison; his four grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, Ava, and Wyatt; his mother, Mary Rendell of Norridgewock; his two brothers, David Rendell and his wife, Patricia, of Norridgewock, and Paul Rendell and his wife, Brenda, of Skowhegan; and several nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his father, Edward Rendell, in 2005.

A celebration of Carl’s life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2023, at Carl’s home in Norridgewock. Arrangements are under the direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Avenue, Skowhegan.
