Charles Rickey Robinson, a beloved resident of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the age of 79.
Early Life and Family
Born in Muskogee County, Georgia, on August 15, 1944, Rickey was the son of the late Otis Lee and Louis Elaine Whitaker Robinson. He shared a close bond with his brother, Gerald Lee Robinson, and sister, Louise Elaine Smith.
In 1965, Rickey married his soulmate, Mary Faye Bright Robinson. Their union of 59 years was filled with unwavering love and companionship.
Professional Journey
Rickey dedicated many years of his career to SCI, where he excelled as a commercial electrician in the telecommunications field.
Avid Gun Enthusiast
Outside of work, Rickey was passionate about firearms. He and Faye enjoyed frequenting local pawn shops, delighting in discovering and refurbishing hidden treasures.
Dedicated Church Member
Rickey and Faye were deeply involved with the Edison Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where they found spiritual fulfillment and community.
Rickey served as an Elder, tirelessly supporting his church and its mission.
Treasured Companion and Friend
In addition to his wife, Rickey leaves behind cherished friends, Brian and Cathy Lodge, who were like family to him.
He also had a deep bond with his furry companions: his shih-poo, Sherlock, and his cat, Watson.
Funeral Service and Burial
Friends and loved ones are invited to gather on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel from 1 p.m. until the funeral service commences at 2 p.m.
Pastor Daryl Bailey will preside over the service.
Burial will follow at Edison Chapel Cemetery, where Rickey will be laid to rest beside his loved ones.
