Deanne L. Savoy Kieltyka, 84, of Augusta, passed away peacefully on July 29, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Kieltyka, to whom she was married for 58 years. Deanne was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Early Life and Education

Deanne was born on March 15, 1938, in Augusta, Maine, to the late Leo and Pauline Savoy. She graduated from Cony High School in 1956 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Maine at Farmington. Deanne had a lifelong passion for learning and continued her education throughout her life, taking courses in various subjects that interested her.

Career and Community Involvement

Deanne began her career as an elementary school teacher in Augusta. She taught for several years before leaving the classroom to raise her family. Deanne was an active member of her community and volunteered her time to many organizations, including the Augusta Food Bank, the American Red Cross, and the Augusta Historical Society. She was also a member of the First Universalist Church of Augusta.
