Obituary: Donald Edward Massey

Donald Edward Massey, 76, of Vinemont, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at his residence.

Life and Legacy

Massey was born on December 18, 1947, in Cullman, Alabama, to Louie Edward Massey and Lois Elizabeth Massey. He was a graduate of Vinemont High School and worked as a supervisor at Hayes International for many years. Massey was a member of Northbrook Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Massey was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Sean Payne. He is survived by his wife, Connie Massey; daughter, Heather Payne; sister, Jan Deason; and a host of family and friends.

Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life for Massey will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Northbrook Baptist Church. The visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., with the service beginning at 4 p.m. Keith Warden and Wade Maynard will officiate the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Northbrook Baptist Church in Massey’s memory.
