Dorothy Laura Badway, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in her residence at Berks Heim in Leesport, PA. Dorothy was born in Easton, PA on May 4, 1931, to Paul and Dolly (Dixon) DeRoner. She grew up in a loving household alongside her siblings, Daniel (Hilda) DeRoner and the late Suzanne Casteen.
Dorothy’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to caregiving. She devoted her early years to raising her five children, who she loved and cherished above all else. Her tireless efforts and unwavering love ensured their well-being and set them on the path to success.
Dorothy’s compassion extended beyond her immediate family. She served as a dedicated foster mother, providing a loving home to children in need. Her kindness and nurturing spirit also reached the children of her community, as she served as a driver for school age children.
A Legacy of Love
Dorothy’s love for children and family was evident in everything she did. She adored her 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and relished every moment she spent with them. Whether it was attending a sporting event, enjoying a family dinner, or simply spending time together, Dorothy made their happiness her priority.
One of Dorothy’s favorite pastimes was spending the day at the beach in Stone Harbor, surrounded by her loved ones. The sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun filled her with joy and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Final Resting Place and Funeral Arrangements
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church in Sinking Spring, PA. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Mausoleum.
A viewing will be held at the church from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius RCC at the above address.
