Edward M. Wentzel, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully in hospice care on December 4, 2023, at the age of 57.
Early Life and Education
Ed was born on June 30, 1966, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to Edward B. Wentzel and the late Dorothy Wentzel. He graduated from Central Catholic High School and Ursinus College. During his time at Ursinus, Ed excelled academically and was actively involved in campus life.
Family and Faith
Ed’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife, Lora Wentzel, and their four children: Parker of Marietta, Georgia, and Lucas, Mason, and Leo of Florida. He was also a devoted brother to Sr. Mary Rene IHM, Teresa Mueller (Daron), and Margaret Yuskovic (John). Ed’s extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Ed was a devout Catholic and an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, Florida. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, and he found solace and inspiration in his religious community.
Tribute and Remembrance
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, June 28, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Reading, Pennsylvania. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 pm, with the mass following.
