André Pied, Beloved Skowhegan Resident, Passes Away at 81

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of André Pied, a beloved resident of Skowhegan, Maine. André passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, at the age of 81.

André was born in Skowhegan on August 23, 1943, to the late Joseph and Marie-Anne Pied. He grew up in Skowhegan and graduated from Skowhegan Area High School in 1961. After graduation, André attended the University of Maine at Orono, where he earned a degree in business administration in 1965.

André returned to Skowhegan after college and began his career in the insurance industry. He worked for several different insurance companies over the years, and eventually became the owner of his own insurance agency, Pied Insurance Agency. André was a successful businessman and was well-respected in the community.

André was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married his wife, Suzanne, in 1967, and they had two children, André Jr. and Michelle. André was a loving and supportive father, and he always put his family first. He was also a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren.

André was a active member of the Skowhegan community. He was a member of the Skowhegan Rotary Club, the Skowhegan Chamber of Commerce, and the Skowhegan Historical Society. André was also a volunteer for several different organizations, including the Skowhegan Food Pantry and the Skowhegan Soup Kitchen.

André will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community. He was a kind and compassionate man who always put others before himself. He will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his love of life.

Life Celebration

A life celebration for André will be held at the Lakewood Golf Course Clubhouse in Madison on August 23 at 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in André’s memory to the Skowhegan Food Pantry or the Skowhegan Soup Kitchen.
