In Memoriam: Angus Plez Grace Sr., a Beloved Father and Friend
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Angus Plez Grace Sr., a cherished father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Angus passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at the age of 84, in the loving embrace of his family at his home in Cullman, Alabama.
A Life Marked by Service and Devotion
Angus was born on January 8, 1940, in Enterprise, Alabama, to James and Emma Grace. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for a total of six years. Following his honorable discharge, he embarked on a distinguished career with the United States Post Office, where he dedicated 26 years as a mailman. His unwavering commitment to community service continued when he worked as a bag boy at Publix for five years after his retirement.
A Devoted Family Man
Angus’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his former spouse and the love of his life, Jewell Grace, as well as the children they raised together: Angus Plez Grace Jr., Anita (John) Dennert, and April Smith. His extended family includes his grandchildren: Daniel (Evelyn) Clark, Christina M. Clark, Amber (George) Negrin, Andrew (Alyssa) Clark, Megan Dennert, Jaden (Kindyl) Smith, Ryan Smith, Mackenzie (Javier) Torres, and Emilee Smith. Angus’s legacy will continue through his nine great-grandchildren, sister Melba (Kenny) Putnell, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Cheerful and Generous Spirit
Those who knew Angus will remember his cheerful disposition, infectious laugh, and quick wit. He was always ready with a joke or a friendly scare, bringing joy to all who crossed his path. He had a deep love for sports, especially the Florida Gators, and could often be found watching a baseball or football game. Angus was also an avid collector of Hess trucks, which brought him much pleasure.
A Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held in Angus’s honor on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home, located at 1901 2nd AVE North West, Cullman, AL 35055. A Celebration of Life funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Moss Service Funeral Home.
Angus will be laid to rest in Jones Chapel Cemetery (235 Co Rd 1114, Cullman, Alabama).
A Legacy of Love and Inspiration
Angus Plez Grace Sr. will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love. His memory will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who loved him.
