Audrey Louise Reed, 73 of Rockford departed this earthly life 12/22/2022. She was born January 21, 1949, in Brownsville Tennessee the daughter of William Frank Sr. and Voila Brown. Audrey lived in Rockford since 1966. She was employed as a cashier at ACE Hardware, later to retire from Conseco Medical Insurance. Member of True Vine Baptist Church served as a Sunday school teacher and youth choir director. She attended Carver High School in Tennessee later receiving her GED. She loved music, cooking, sewing, and thrifting.

Audrey leaves to cherish many loving memories, son; Artemus Reed, daughters; Andrea Hemby, Adrianne Reed, Atesha Reed; 4 Grandchildren Artavis and Asia Reed, Tristen Hemby, Patrick Gipson Jr.; five sisters Sandra Brown Pitts, Susie Brown Robbie Brown, all of Rockford IL., Deborah Amis of Clinton MD and Sharon Shaw Minor (Chris); six brothers, Samuel Brown of Jackson TN., Albert of Rockford IL., Cleavette Brown (Gwen), Kevin Evans both of Brownsville TN., William Otis Newbern of Ripley TN., Gregory Newbern Atlanta GA.; a host of nieces, nephews’ other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, stepmother Elizabeth Brown and brother William Frank “Bill” Brown Jr.  

Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street, Rockford IL 61109. Visitation 12:00 noon until the time of service.
