It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Regina Moore Benefield, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Regina passed away peacefully at home on July 17, 2024, at the age of 65.

Early Life and Education

Regina was born on [Date of Birth] in Huntsville, Alabama, to Raymond and Virginia Moore. She grew up in the loving embrace of her family and spent her formative years in Guntersville, where she attended Guntersville High School and graduated in 1976.

Family and Home

Regina’s unwavering faith in God guided her throughout her life. She was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years, Wesley Benefield, and a cherished mother to her two daughters, Janna and Tiffany.

Regina’s home was always filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of her loving spirit. She had a remarkable ability to make every child she encountered feel like her own, earning her the endearing titles of “Mom” or “Maw-Maw.”

Community Involvement

Regina’s heart overflowed with compassion and a deep desire to serve others. She generously volunteered her time and energy to various community organizations, leaving an enduring legacy of love and support:

  • PTA/PTO President for both elementary and middle schools
  • Girl Scout Leader, inspiring young girls to reach their full potential
  • Hosted “fun home camp” experiences for her nieces and nephews, creating lasting memories
  • Enthusiastic and supportive “checker” at local malls during school “fun days”

Hobbies and Passions

Beyond her family and community commitments, Regina pursued her passions with unwavering enthusiasm. She had a keen eye for design and took great joy in creating a beautiful and welcoming home for her loved ones.

Regina’s green thumb also brought her immense satisfaction. She spent countless hours tending to her garden, where she grew vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables that brought joy to her entire family.

Legacy of Love and Laughter

Regina’s love for her family was boundless. She had an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. Her ability to laugh, love, and live to the fullest left an unforgettable mark on all who knew her.

Regina’s unwavering faith sustained her throughout her life. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God and was an active member of the GFBC (Guntersville First Baptist Church).

Memorial Services

In keeping with Regina’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held initially for immediate family members. Plans for a future Celebration of Life ceremony are underway, and details will be announced when finalized.
