Obituary: Celeste Bouchard
A Life Well-Lived
Celeste Bouchard was born on May 15, 1937, in Waterville, Maine, to parents Joseph and Marie Bouchard. She grew up in a loving and supportive home, surrounded by extended family and friends. From a young age, she displayed a kind heart, a curious mind, and a strong determination.
Education and Career
Celeste attended local schools and graduated from Waterville High School in 1955. She went on to pursue a degree in nursing at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with honors in 1958. Her passion for caring for others led her to a fulfilling career as a registered nurse at Thayer Hospital, where she worked for over three decades.
Family and Community
In 1960, Celeste married the love of her life, Roger Bouchard. Together, they raised a beautiful family of three children: Monique, Marc, and Michelle. Family was the cornerstone of Celeste’s life, and she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, sharing her wisdom, laughter, and love.
Celeste was also an active member of the Waterville community. She volunteered countless hours at the local church, soup kitchen, and assisted living facility. Her kindness and compassion extended to all who knew her, and she made a lasting impact on the lives of many.
Legacy
Celeste Bouchard was an extraordinary woman who lived a life filled with purpose and joy. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family and community. Her legacy of kindness, empathy, and service will continue to inspire generations to come.
Celeste is survived by her husband, Roger; her children, Monique, Marc, and Michelle; her grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Evan; and her siblings, Paul, Susan, and John. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Waterville on August 1, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterville Area Soup Kitchen in Celeste’s memory.
