The Cullman community mourns the passing of Gail Key, a beloved member of Northside Baptist Church who passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 87.

Gail’s life was a tapestry woven with threads of service and compassion. She was an active member of her church, where she dedicated countless hours as a nursery caretaker, nurturing and caring for infants and toddlers.

Her hands were always busy, not only in her role at the church but also in her passion for crocheting. Gail was renowned for her award-winning crocheted creations, which adorned the homes of loved ones and graced the lives of many.

A Legacy of Love and Handmade Warmth

Beyond her contributions to the church and her artistic abilities, Gail was known for her heartfelt expressions of love and support. She had a knack for creating personalized occasion cards, adorned with intricate crocheted details. These cards became a cherished keepsake for those who received them, a tangible reminder of Gail’s kindness and warm spirit.

Her friends and family affectionately dubbed her the “Card Lady,” a testament to her extraordinary talent and the joy she brought to others through her handmade creations.

A Memory Cherished, a Life Honored

Gail Key’s passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin C. Key, and her parents, Hattie Estella Price and Mose Alexander Latta. She is survived by her son, Tim Key, and her special friends, Dale and Kathy Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Moss Service Funeral Home is directing the arrangements, ensuring that Gail’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire and uplift those who remember her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Northside Baptist Church in Gail’s memory, where her spirit will continue to live on through acts of kindness and service to others.
